About Steve Meriwether.
Before being assigned to the Diocese, I was the Senior Vice president of Operations for Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada for 2 ½ years. Handling all aspects of security, maintenance, housekeeping, emergency shelter and all day to day operations.
Prior to Catholic Charities, I worked for some twenty-five years with the Las Vegas Metropolitan
Police Department as a Patrol Officer, Detective and a Sergeant in the areas of major crime saturation team leader, air support unit team leader, human resources, suitability investigations, internal affairs, crisis negotiation, Community Oriented Policing, special events and public information officer.
I have earned certifications in;
Certified law enforcement instructor, defensive tactics instructor, Secret Service Dignitary protection, Community oriented Policing, Crisis/ Hostage negotiations, large crowd management, Law enforcement driving instructor, Incident command system, and Crisis management.
